…a place to hang out with friends
…a place to receive hope
…a place to discover purpose
Central to our work is the Community Life Center, a place where we provide our Community Members, and others like them, needed resources toward life and improved mental health.
Many life-giving requirements that lend toward mental health are generally taken for granted. Therefore, we seek to provide participants with some of the elements missing from their lives: friendship, hope, purpose.

These items are imparted at the center through unstructured time and carefully planned programming. Scheduled activities include support groups (e.g., depression, mental health, addiction), spiritual formation (e.g., optional morning prayer and weekly Bible studies), recreational ventures (e.g., arts & crafts, theater workshop, games, field trips), and vocational training (e.g., in-house positions, computer training).
Now open three days per week (Tuesday-Thursday, 9am-3pm), with additional volunteer and financial support, we envision the center operating 7 days per week.
The center’s programming is based on the “clubhouse model”, a best practice within the mental health research.
A Member Advisory Board is consulted in nearly all issues (e.g., house discipline, programming choices, etc.) and Community Members perform the majority of in-house responsibilities (e.g., in-take, janitorial, managing a café, etc.).
